Tanner & Blair Find Their “Furever” Home

After their original story was so beautifully captured by our friends at KTUL Channel 8 in Tulsa, the video went viral and offers of help for these two deserving canines poured into Sooner Golden Retriever Rescue from across the country.

With this additional financial support and the help of Dr. Robert Gwin in OKC, SGRR was able to provide surgery to correct the cataract in Tanner’s left eye.

With three months of post-surgical follow-up and continuing support from Blair, Tanner now seems to have some limited vision in his left eye. Both dogs have done extremely well in the care of SGRR, Dr. Mike Jones, and all the staff at Woodland West Animal Hospital. Over the past few months, Tanner’s seizures have been well-controlled with medication and Blair has transformed from a timid and suspicious street cur into a friendly and energetic companion animal.

Here’s the best news of all…
Tanner & Blair have found their forever home TOGETHER!

After a brief stint in foster care with a Tulsa area family, Tanner & Blair have been officially adopted by their foster family and are now living together in a loving “furever” home – a home that includes a new canine sibling!

Many thanks to our friends at Woodland West Animal Hospital in Tulsa for providing ongoing veterinary care and room & board for Tanner & Blair while we searched for the perfect placement for these two deserving souls. We must also thank the staff at KTUL Channel 8 in Tulsa for getting this story out there; and all of the folks across the country who supported Tanner & Blair both financially and spiritually on their journey home. What a terrific ending for everyone – especially Tanner & Blair. Woo hoo!
