Dear SGRR staff
We are heartbroken over the loss of our sweet and fun loving Rex. He passed April 24, 2017 and was 11 1/2 years old. We adopted Rex in September, 2009 and he was four years old at the time. As Rex aged he developed hip dysplasia but with medication he was still able to enjoy life. He passed away due to kidney failure which came on very quickly.
When we adopted him we felt that we rescued him but looking back we realized he rescued us. We spent many years traveling the country with Rex in our RV. He loved riding in the truck, meeting new people and just enjoying life. Rex also liked staying home but would let us know then he wanted a ride. He enjoyed walking in our neighborhood because people would stop and pet him.
We have so many memories of Rex that at times it overwhelms us. We are so very grateful to the SGRR staff for the opportunity to adopt Rex and to have him as long as we did.
Here is a tribute to Rex that I put together: https://vimeo.com/220242703
